Molecular Diagnostics Scientist

Position Description:

We are seeking a Ph.D. scientist with experience in cancer diagnostics research to lead and perform research on clinical test samples. This person will perform experiments to demonstrate the test specificity, accuracy, and sensitivity within the outlined plan in the grant. This person will be selected according to their technical experience related to diagnostic research. Experience in cancer diagnostics with cell culture and molecular biology is preferred. Kidney cancer knowledge and grant writing are also preferred.

The scientist will perform the following tasks:

Manage R&D work on the Cicadea Test on clinical urine samples

Perform microscopic tests on urine samples

Perform qPCR and RT-PCR tests to confirm the presence and source of the renal tumor cells in the urine samples

Perform data analysis on all testing experiments. Experience of using R for data analysis is preferred.

Support team with grant writing for the Cicadea Test for cancer detection

Terms of Employment:

This is a term position funded via an NSF SBIR/STTR Phase I grant to conduct research in kidney cancer detection. The position term is based on continued funding and the project is currently funded for a 12-month position. The position is available now, however, the start date for the position will vary depending the availability of a strong candidate.

Location:  The work will be performed at the Cicadea lab located at 1100 Corporate Square Drive in Creve Coeur, MO.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
